‘Pawn Stars’ Corey Harrison issues plea to fans after near-death accident

Corey Harrison, of Pawn Stars fame, is asking fans for help after the exorbitant costs of his medical bills following a motorcycle crash in Mexico.

In January, Corey, 42, was left with 11 fractured ribs, a concussion, and facial injuries as a result of the accident, per TMZ. Life-threatening complications ensued, while Corey was also forced to miss the wedding of his father, Rick Harrison.

Corey, a mainstay in the wildly popular Pawn Stars show, told TMZ that he had prematurely checked himself out of hospital after two weeks due to mounting medical costs.

This, he explained, led to further difficulties. While continuing to recover at his home in Tulum, Mexico, Corey experienced excruciating pain, leading to a house doctor administering IV fluids and morphine.

When Corey’s oxygen level plummeted, he feared he might die. TMZ report that he couldn’t afford to return to the same hospital where he’d been treated, forcing friends to take him to a more affordable facility.

There, Corey underwent three surgeries and spent an additional 18 days hospitalized.

All told, the TV star claims to have spent close to $120,000 on medical bills. He told TMZ that he has just $400 in his bank account, having borrowed money from his father and friends to cover the costs.

Corey has since started a GoFundMe page in the hope that fans will come to his aid.

“What am I going to do, fly out to Vegas and sell stuff? I can’t move from my recliner,” he explained.

TMZ say that though he yet receives residual checks from reruns of Pawn Stars, he’s completely removed from the show.

Meanwhile, father Rick, who varying reports suggest is worth multiple millions of dollars, told TMZ: “Corey is a grown man and he will deal with his life as he sees fit.”

Fans can find the GoFundMe page here.
