Man snaps heartbreaking photo of firefighters taking a rest after 24 hours of working nonstop

Sometimes I get really tired of my work. This is something you could know; you wake up one morning and get a headache at the idea of having another day at work.

Though I occasionally whine and spend days in bed watching TV, I am lucky that my employment never compromises my safety.

Though most of us not give this daily thought, there is much to be discussed about this. It is easy to forget the reality that some jobs not only emotionally taxing but also actively dangerous for their practitioners.

Firefighting is a noble career. Firefighters, in my view, are not given enough credit for the bravery they demonstrate by just showing up for daily business. But there is a picture going around on the internet that appropriately raises awareness of firemen and the difficult circumstances they occasionally must work in.

In my early years, I wanted to be a firefighter, should my dreams of NBA fulfillment fall short. Now, though, I would be happy to let others assume that responsibility.

Though I could be shy, there are few things I would hate more than having to dash into a flaming building.

Fortunately for our society, some people view things differently than I do. These brave people regularly risk their lives to save others and reduce the total death toll in fires or severe collisions.

Firefighters are not just praised for their bravery in saving people from perilous circumstances—such as pulling them out of fire apartment buildings or from burning cars. Fighting one of the most destructive powers of nature—wildfires—also presents a difficult task.

Living in an area prone to wildfires means knowing the havoc flames can cause. Unchecked, these flames can destroy everything in their path and spare nothing.

Under such circumstances, firefighters are quite important. While others are told to flee the affected areas, firefighters valiantly enter to fight the flames and stop more damage, therefore saving many lives.

A wildfire of same scope was raging through Portugal few years ago, requiring the knowledge of 1,150 firemen to contain its spread.

Though it was quite a show, the frightening apocalyptic sight produced an incredible picture that paid tribute to the great efforts of firefighters in protecting the society.

Reports indicate that Pedro Brás posted the image along with the comment: “Following a day and night battling the Góis Forest Fire, we enjoyed 25 minutes at the river beach, despite it being shrouded in smoke.”

The picture in issue showed a group of firefighters lounging on a green field, utterly exhausted and just falling in place to catch some sleep.

Pedro said the firefighters decided to have a little 25-minute break after an unrelenting 24-hour effort to contain the flames.

Although I cannot speak for others, I believe firefighters all around should be better valued for their diligence.
