Eckhart worked for Fox News Media from 2013 to 2020, eventually becoming an associate producer at Fox Business Network. Before that, she studied telecommunications-news at the University of Florida and worked in television and radio.

After leaving Fox, Eckhart began a new chapter in her career with her podcast, REINVENTED with Jen Eckhart. The program featured conversations with people from entertainment, sports and business about overcoming difficult experiences and rebuilding their careers and lives.

She also founded The Reinvented Project, an organization focused on supporting trauma survivors through animal-assisted healing. Her later work reflected her interest in resilience, personal growth and starting over after difficult periods.

Eckhart became nationally known in 2020 after filing a lawsuit against former Fox News anchor Ed Henry, alleging sexual assault. Henry denied her allegations and said their relationship had been consensual. The legal case continued for several years, with Eckhart’s claims against Henry ultimately settled in 2025. Fox News was dismissed from the lawsuit in 2025, and that decision was later upheld on appeal.

According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office and medical examiner, Eckhart died at her Florida home on September 19, 2026. Authorities ruled the death a suicide.

Her death has brought renewed attention to a life that extended far beyond the legal case that first made her widely known. Through REINVENTED, Eckhart built a platform centered on people facing adversity and finding ways to create new chapters in their lives.

She was 36.
