On Sunday night, UFC Freedom 250 took place at the White House. During the event, Josh Hokit made a comment about Michelle Obama that quickly drew attention online. Now, a lip reader has revealed what Donald Trump said to the fighter after his controversial remark.

In commemoration of the USA’s 250th birthday, as well as Donald Trump’s 80th birthday, a UFC event was held on the White House lawn on Sunday. Following the event, Trump posted on Truth Social, writing: “The UFC at the White House last night was incredible.”

He went on to describe the fighters as “outstanding” and “unbelievable,” and said it was “one of the most exciting days in the History of our fabled White House,” according to NBC News.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio even compared the evening to the moon landings in 1969. Speaking at the event, he said: “When President Kennedy announced that we were going to put a man on the moon and return him safely to the earth, no one thought that was possible, and we did it,” according to VT.

“We are a nation founded on doing what no one else dared to do, and no one else aspired to do. And at some level, that’s what this whole company, what UFC has been.”

But while Trump appeared pleased with how the night unfolded, the fighting itself wasn’t the only thing making headlines.

Hokit fought Derrick Lewis in a heavyweight bout and then made a sudden and offensive comment about Michelle Obama. During a post-fight interview on Sunday, he first praised Trump for hosting the event before saying: “And lastly, Michelle Obama is a man. Am I right, America?,” according to CNN.

Following Hokit’s comment, lip reader Jeremy Freeman reportedly observed Trump speaking to the fighter at the UFC event. Speaking to the Daily Star, Freeman decoded what he believed was said between the two.

According to Freeman, Trump appeared to say: “Too kind, thank you. You are the champion.”

Ultimate Fighting Championship CEO and President Dana White said in a text message to Time magazine on Monday: “I understand that the Obamas are public figures but I’m completely against saying nasty and false things about people’s families. Everyone knows my position on free speech but I hate that kind of nonsense,” according to CNN.
