Donald Trump makes threat after Jimmy Kimmel returns to television

Jimmy Kimmel returned to ABC for his talk show on Tuesday. The talk show host, whose program was preempted from local channels last week after his comments about Charlie Kirk’s passing, decided to provide an explanation for what happened before continuing his show.

However, not everyone was satisfied that he was back on television. On Truth Social, President Donald Trump made threats after seeing Kimmel’s talk show being broadcast again.

The assassination of Charlie Kirk affected millions of people. While the horrifying murder happened, it also sparked a new debate about free speech, with talk show host Jimmy Kimmel becoming the center of a huge controversy.

On his talk show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he claimed the MAGA movement was trying to win political points by proving the suspect wasn’t one of their own.

“The MAGA Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said. “In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving.”

Kimmel’s words became highly controversial, and just hours later, two major station groups, Sinclair and Nexstar, announced they were preempting Jimmy Kimmel’s show on their local stations.

Later, ABC suspended the show completely, sparking a national debate about freedom of speech and potential government interference. Many comedians, actors, and even former President Barack Obama became involved in the debate.

In a post on X, Obama responded to ABC’s decision to take Jimmy Kimmel’s show off the air, warning of “government coercion.”

“After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening regulatory action against media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters and commentators it doesn’t like,” former President Barack Obama wrote in a post on X.

In the end, Jimmy Kimmel returned. On Tuesday, he was back on his talk show, but not everyone was pleased with the decision. One of them was President Donald Trump, who threatened ABC in a post while criticizing Jimmy Kimmel again.

Donald Trump threatens to go after ABC after Jimmy Kimmel return
“I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back. The White House was told by ABC that his Show was cancelled! Something happened between then and now because his audience is GONE, and his ‘talent’ was never there,” Trump wrote.

“Why would they want someone back who does so poorly, who’s not funny, and who puts the Network in jeopardy by playing 99% positive Democrat GARBAGE. He is yet another arm of the DNC and, to the best of my knowledge, that would be a major Illegal Campaign Contribution. I think we’re going to test ABC out on this. Let’s see how we do. Last time I went after them, they gave me $16 Million Dollars. This one sounds even more lucrative. A true bunch of losers! Let Jimmy Kimmel rot in his bad Ratings.”
