Policeman Answers Call from Crying Kid Who Says His Mother Is Gone

Sam, a six-year-old boy, is devastated after his mother passes away. His father tells him that she flew to heaven, but Sam doesn’t understand why she hasn’t come home.

When Sam calls 911 for help, Officer John Lewis suggests that he send his mother a letter with a red balloon to help her find her way.

Sam writes letters each month, but they go unanswered, until one day, a group of officers shows up with red balloons, showing their support.

Sam receives a letter from his mother (actually written by his father), telling him she loves him and to take care of his dad. This act of kindness helps both Sam and his father begin to heal.

The story teaches us the power of empathy, the importance of acknowledging children’s feelings, and the healing power of love.
