Gordon Ramsay dismisses claims he ‘cut off’ Gino D’Acampo amid misconduct allegations

Gordon Ramsay has dismissed claims that he “cut off” Gino D’Acampo after raising concerns about his alleged behaviour two years ago.

D’Acampo, 48, is facing dozens of accusations of sexually inappropriate and “distressing” behaviour on TV sets spanning 12 years, which he denies.

Amid the controversy, it had been reported that Ramsay was “no longer on speaking terms” with his former Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip co-star after his “concerns” about the Italian chef led to a “fractured” relationship.

Sources told MailOnline earlier this month that Ramsay was “horrified” by D’Acampo’s alleged misconduct and “spoke up about things he didn’t think were okay” which allegedly caused a rift.

However, in a new interview with The Standard’s David Ellis, the Hell’s Kitchen star dismissed the speculation and revealed he has spoken with his former co-stars.

“I have reached out to Gino, checked in to make sure he and the family were doing okay. Fred too,” the 58-year-old said while discussing the launch of his new London restaurant, Lucky Cat.

D’Acampo’s alleged behaviour on various TV shows was described as “horrendous” by those making the allegations in an ITV News investigation earlier this month. He has “firmly denied” the allegations and described them as “deeply upsetting”.

Sirieix, D’Acampo, and Ramsay travelled around various countries, sampling local cuisine and culture on their ITV show – which D’Acampo announced he was leaving in 2023.

Last year, Sirieix and D’Acampo launched their own travel show without Ramsay called Gino and Fred: Emission Impossible which follows the duo’s eco-friendly tour around Austria and Croatia.

This isn’t the first time Ramsay has addressed the speculation.

His spokesperson told The Standard that the speculation was ‘utter nonsense’ and ‘ridiculous’, adding: “It is ridiculous to think anyone in Studio Ramsay or Gordon’s personal team wants to prolong this story – it’s of no benefit to anyone!”

D’Acampo called time on Gordon, Gino and Fred’s Road Trip in March 2023 and revealed he would not be returning for a planned fifth series due to ‘contract complications’.

In an Instagram post announcing his departure at the time, the This Morning regular wrote: “I decided not to film any more Gordon, Gino and Fred Road trips.

“The reason is very simple – nothing to do with Gordon or Fred, the friendship is very strong.”

He went on to say: “Because contracts start to become very complicated and very stressful, I personally value the friendship with Gordon and Fred so much that I would rather the friendship than arguments with the contract.

“So I have decided not to do it anymore because I want to be friends with the boys for many, many years ahead.”

D’Acampo and Sirieix instead teamed up for the ITV series Gino and Fred: Emission Impossible last year, where they headed on an ‘epic eco-friendly adventure’ across Austria and Croatia.
