Minneapolis ICE agent breaks silence after crowdfunding as his neighbor says he lied

ICE agent Jonathan Ross, who fatally shot Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis on January 7, has broken his silence after receiving hundreds of thousands of dollars through a stream of donations from supporters. Meanwhile, his neighbor has broken her silence, saying he lied about his work.

Jonathan Ross killed Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis. The incident has divided the nation, and donations have poured in for both the late mother of three and Ross. The Minneapolis community has mourned Good’s death. However, many, including President Donald Trump, have stated that Ross did nothing wrong.

In recent days, donations have poured into Jonathan Ross, primarily through two fundraisers. At the time of writing, a GoFundMe has raised $614,000 and GiveSendGo $248,000, for a total of $862,000.

On Monday, GiveSendGo co-founder Jacob Wells shared a message from Jonathon Ross on social media.

“I just got off the phone with the ICE agent involved in this horrible situation. He is extremely appreciative of the support from all of you,” Jacob Wells wrote. “We will be releasing funds soon to him so he doesn’t have to worry about his family’s or his safety.”

Jonathan Ross, a war veteran from Iraq, returned to the US from deployment in 2005. In 2007, he joined the Border Patrol in El Paso, Texas, and served as a field intelligence agent until 2015.

ICE agent Jonathan Ross’ neighbor claims he lied about his work
That year, Ross joined ICE as a deportation officer based in Minnesota.

“The wife is polite, very nice, very outgoing, while he’s very reserved. They have a couple of kids,” a resident living in Jonathan’s neighborhood told the Daily Mail.

However, it has now been claimed that he wasn’t being all honest with his neighbors. Speaking anonymously with People Magazine, the woman said she didn’t know Jonathan was an ICE agent, claiming that he lied about his profession.

The neighbor said she was shocked to hear the news, and stunned seeing that it was Jonathan Ross who struck down Renee Nicole Good. She explained how she met him at a neighborhood garage party during the pandemic.

“He said he worked with plants, as a botanist, so he lied about what he did,” she claimed to People Magazine, explaining that he kept to himself.

“[He said he] enjoyed border control… but loved plants,” she continued. “So when I found out he was the one on the news, I said, ‘What! That’s so crazy!’ I had no idea he was an ICE agent.”

“Really hard to process”
She said that agents had moved Jonathan Ross’ belongings out of his house after the fatal shooting. That they had been neighbors, she said, “creeps me out,” adding that it was “upsetting.”

“I think it impacted a lot of our neighbors that way. People really haven’t been talking about it because you just want to maintain some peace on the road — you don’t want to start fights. But it’s just really hard to process. And then every day, you hear about more people getting detained,” the neighbor concluded.
