Melania Trump has not been seen much in public in recent months. She joined her family for the New Year’s celebration at Mar-a-Lago, and the couple even shared a kiss. But how is the state of their marriage? An insider has now shared news that they barely see each other – but share one unexpected hobby.

Donald Trump is having his hands full at the White House. Meanwhile, his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, has not made many public appearances. She was joined by Second Lady Usha Vance during a visit to a South Carolina military base in late October and appeared with Donald at the annual Congressional Ball in Washington, D.C., in December.

Also, she recently promoted the trailer for her new documentary, Melania. Cameras caught Trump, her husband, and son Barron at the New Year’s celebration at Mar-a-Lago. As she stated already before they moved back into the White House a year ago, she would split her time between Mar-a-Lago in Pal Beach, Florida, and the White House.

Over the last month, she has split her time between the Trump family’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach and the White House. However, a People Magazine source said Melania hasn’t been in the Capitol on official First Lady duties.

In February last year, a People Magazine source said, “[Donald and Melania] both live at Mar-a-Lago and have quarters in the White House. But she leads her own life and joins him when appropriate in either place.”

The source added that when she is in Palm Beach, she “keeps to herself” but does accompany Donald to dinner “on occasion.”

The President and First Lady of the United States have vastly different schedules. Now, a source tells People Magazine that it also takes a toll on their marriage. They said the couple has separate schedules but bonds over their love of interior design.

Moreover, the source claimed Trump considers himself a talented designer, with the knowledge to transform space better than professionals.

“Donald has his own vision for his homes and clubs, and over the years has designed and selected a lot of the furnishings and finishings himself at Mar-a-Lago and the golf clubs,” the source said. “He and Melania have that in common. They both love interior design.”

They added that Donald and Melania Trump don’t spend much time together outside their joint public appearances.

“There is little interaction between them, just what is expected,” the source continued. ”Then they go back to doing their own thing.”

White House spokesman Davis Ingle responded to the claim, telling People Magazine “President Trump and the entire administration work 24/7 for the American people to deliver on the promise to Make America Great Again. The Trump Family is the most successful family of all time.”

That Donald Trump and Melania don’t seem to spend that much time together was clear in December when the president made a comment about his wife’s work. As they arrived for the Congressional Ball, he admitted that he was unaware of her recent work at the White House.

Melania spoke briefly about her “new legislative initiative,” to which Donald responded, “Well, I just heard about that for the first time. I don’t know what it is she’s doing, but I know it’s going to be great for children.”
