Donald Trump gives answer to whether son Barron could become president of the US

The current state of US politics, with its accompanying dramas and side-stories that read like the script of an award-winning Hollywood blockbuster, makes the future very difficult, if not impossible to predict.

Against the odds, Donald Trump proved himself a juggernaut during the 2024 presidential election, winning the White House seat with even mored conviction than the first time around.

His victory duly upset the apple cart on the Blue side of the political sphere, while his first few months in the job have steadily created tidal waves of ever-increasing size. Given his speculated ties to the notorious Epstein files – which still have not been released – there are those willing to predict Trump might be fortunate to even reach the end of his second presidential term, let alone be able to lay the groundwork for a Republican dynasty that would stretch far beyond his presidential expiry date of January, 2029.

Trump, of course, likely yet envisages a future wherein the political vehicle that he set into motion continues to mow down all in its path. Indeed, the person sitting at the helm of such a vehicle may even share his name.

It’s long been speculated that one of the POTUS’ children might look to take up the reins when he eventually sets them down. The likes of Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka Trump were heavily involved in their father’s first term in the Oval Office, though neither have expressed a strong desire to make their own inroads into politics as yet.

Then there’s Barron Trump, the youngest of Donald’s brood. He may be more tender in years than his siblings, but many of his formative years have played out in tandem with his father’s political machinations.

One could say that of all Donald Trump’s children, Barron has been best-groomed to carry the Trump banner into the political battles to come.

During a recent interview with Fox News’ Laura Ingraham – wherein the two of them toured the White House – Trump was asked which of his children might follow in his political footsteps.

In response, Trump described his five children as smart, successful, and passionate about their country.

“Tiffany is very smart,” he said. “She was a great student, always a great student. They’re all great students, actually. And I think Barron’s gonna be, uh, tremendous at that. He’s very meticulous.”

Ingraham then went one further, directing the president’s attention to recent speculation pegging Barron as a future president.

“A lot of people think [Barron] could be the next Trump president,” she said.

“I don’t know. I think-” Trump began.

But he was cut off by Ingraham before he could finish his sentence, with the interviewer suggesting perhaps one of Barron’s older siblings might be a good fit.

“In a certain way, they all could,” Trump replied.

At just 19, Barron has a long way to go before he’d even be eligible to run for the presidency. The teenager, currently studying at New York University’s Stern School of Business, has never expressed any concrete political ambition, but then again, information about his likes and dislikes, his hopes, dreams, and plans for the future remains a closely guarded secret.

That said, both Donald and Melania Trump championed the small role he played in helping his father win last year’s election.

Melania previously told Fox News: “He’s a grown young man. I’m very proud of him – about his knowledge, even about politics, and giving advice to his father. He brought in so many young people.

“He knows his generation, because nowadays the young generation, they don’t sit in front of TV anymore. They’re all on the tablets, they’re on the phones, and all of these podcasts and streamers.”

She added: “He was very vocal, and he gave advice to his father, and [it] was incredible how he brought in a success because he knew exactly who his father needed to contact and to talk to.”
