Biden issues biting comment after new poll reveals who Americans prefer — Obama or Trump

Joe Biden may no longer be president — but that doesn’t mean he’s staying silent.

And now, a new nationwide poll has caught his attention and sparked a fiery response.

Former President Joe Biden has taken a fierce swipe at his successor after a new poll revealed that Americans still prefer Barack Obama over Donald Trump.

According to a recent Marquette University survey of 1,005 adults across the U.S., Americans view Obama far more positively than Trump.

The poll found that 57% of respondents had a favorable opinion of Obama, compared to just 42% for Trump — leaving the 45th president with a net favorability of -15 points, while Obama enjoyed +17.

Scathing comment
The poll results sparked a fiery response from Biden, who didn’t miss the chance to take aim at Trump’s leadership and legacy. Speaking at a Nebraska Democratic Party gala in Omaha, Biden referenced Trump’s controversial decision to demolish part of the White House’s East Wing to build a ballroom.

“I knew Trump was going to taking a wrecking ball to the country, but I had no idea, I have to admit, I didn’t know there was going to be an actual wrecking ball,” Biden said.

“It’s a perfect symbol of his presidency. Trump has taken a wrecking ball not only to the people’s house but to the Constitution, to the rule of law, to our very democracy.”

Biden didn’t stop there. He also called out Trump’s claim that America is in a “golden age.”

“He now says we are quote ‘in a golden age.’ The only gold is the stuff he’s hanging on the mantle,” Biden continued. “You work for us, Mr. President. We don’t work for you. You work for us, not just billionaires and millionaires. I’m angry.”

The former president’s passionate remarks come just months after he revealed his own health struggles. Back in May, Biden announced he’d been diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer.

”I thank God for the doctors”
His office said in a statement:

“Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms. On Friday he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.”

After completing a round of radiation therapy, Biden reflected publicly on the experience:

“I thank God for the doctors and the nurses and the incredible breakthroughs we’re making in cancer research,” he said.

“Now Trump and his Republican friends are cutting government funding for health care and making it more expensive, more expensive for virtually everyone.”

Despite his diagnosis, Biden’s fiery tone shows no signs of dimming — and his latest remarks prove he’s not backing down from taking on Trump or defending what he believes is at stake: America’s democracy.
