Joe Biden’s daughter shares update from hospital amid cancer fight

Ashley Biden, daughter of Joe Biden, has issued an update from hospital relating to her father’s treatment for cancer.

In May of this year, the former POTUS announced that he had been diagnosed with an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer, revealing at the time that he was pursuing several treatment options.

The discovery was reportedly made after the 82-year-old reported urinary symptoms, leading to doctors finding a small nodule on his prostate.

“Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms,” Biden’s office said in a statement.

“On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterised by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.

“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management.”

Earlier this week, a spokesperson for Biden’s team offered a rare update on his battle with the illness, revealing that the 82-year-old was receiving radiation therapy as part of his treatment plan, as well as hormone treatment.

“As part of a treatment plan for prostate cancer, President Biden is currently undergoing radiation therapy and hormone treatment,” the spokesperson said.

“The cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management.”

According to Hello Magazine, Biden’s daughter Ashley has now offered another update, and this one from the hospital where the former president has just completed a course of radiation treatment.

In a short video shared to Instagram by Ashley, Biden was seen ringing the bell at Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology in Philadelphia, a symbolic tradition for cancer patients upon their completion of a round of treatment.

Ashley Biden posted the vide to her almost 29,000 Instagram followers, with a caption that read: “Rung the Bell! Thank you to the incredible doctors, nurses, and staff at Penn Medicine. We are so grateful!”

Another photo showed Biden standing with his family, which Ashley captioned: “Dad has been so damn brave throughout his treatment. Grateful.”

Speaking of his own diagnosis earlier this year, Biden said: “It’s all a matter of taking a pill, one particular pill, for the next six weeks and then another one.

“Well, the prognosis is good. You know, we’re working on everything. It’s moving along. So I feel good.”

Sending strength and prayers to former president Biden!
