American televangelist Kenneth Copeland has sparked controversy after describing a disturbing vision of what he believes could happen to people on Judgment Day if they failed to vote or pray as he said God had instructed them to.
During a church service in November 2024, the 89-year-old preacher claimed he had experienced a spiritual vision in which Jesus confronted people who had not followed those instructions.
According to Copeland’s account, those individuals would be made to hear the names of millions of unborn babies whose lives were ended through abortion. He claimed they would have to listen to the names one by one and would ultimately be held responsible for their deaths.
Copeland cited a figure of more than 65 million, connecting his warning to his longstanding opposition to abortion and his views on Christian participation in elections.
Although the sermon followed Donald Trump’s 2024 election victory, Copeland’s reported account focused specifically on people who did not vote or pray as he believed they should. His remarks have since resurfaced online, prompting renewed debate about the relationship between religion, politics and personal voting choices.
The vision he described represents Copeland’s own religious claim, not an established fact about what happens after death. His comments have nevertheless drawn attention because they link a person’s political participation with moral responsibility on Judgment Day.
