Official docs reveal startling details about how many times Renee Good was shot

The deadly shooting of 37‑year‑old Renee Nicole Good has set off outrage across the United States.

Now, new harrowing details are emerging about how the mother of three was killed.

Tensions remain extremely high in Minneapolis. With no clear end in sight for the immigration enforcement operation that began in Minnesota last month, President Donald Trump has now threatened to bring in the military to try to stop the protests.

Trump took to social media Thursday to warn that he might invoke the rarely used Insurrection Act, a law last deployed during the deadly Los Angeles riots in 1992, to “quickly put an end to the travesty that is taking place in that once great State.”

At the same time, new details continue to emerge about what happened when ICE agent Jonathan Ross shot and killed Renee Nicole Good, 37.

According to an incident report, Good was shot four times while sitting in her SUV during a tense federal immigration operation, and body‑camera and bystander video has sparked fierce debate over the circumstances of the shooting.

Local officials and witnesses have challenged the official narrative put forward by federal authorities, saying the footage appears to show Good trying to turn her vehicle away from agents before Ross opened fire through the windshield and driver’s side window.

Struck in the chest, arm, and head
The Department of Homeland Security has defended the agent’s actions, saying the SUV was being used as a weapon in a violent act, while critics argue the video tells a very different story. As one Minneapolis leader put it:

“This was an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying.”

The Minneapolis Fire Department report, obtained by the Minnesota Star Tribune, details that Good was struck in the chest, arm, and head on the morning of January 7, following a standoff between protesters and federal agents on a residential block.

Paramedics arrived around 9:42 a.m. to find Good, a mother of three, unresponsive in her vehicle, with blood covering her face and torso.

First responders documented two gunshot wounds on the right side of her chest, one on her left forearm, and one on the left side of her head with “protruding tissue,” noting blood flowing from her left ear.

A 911 caller reportedly told dispatchers that Good had been shot because “she wouldn’t open her car door,” adding, “Send an ambulance please, ambulance please.”

Paramedics found her unresponsive, with a pulse that was described as “inconsistent” and “irregular,” according to the report obtained through a state Data Practices Act request.

After being pulled from her SUV, Good was moved to a nearby snowbank and then onto the sidewalk to separate her from what the report described as “an escalating scene involving law enforcement and bystanders.”

Despite efforts by emergency personnel, she was pronounced dead after CPR was discontinued at 10:30 a.m.

Good, who described herself as a “poet and writer,” had recently moved to Chicago with her wife, who was seen grieving at the scene. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem alleged that Good had been part of a group of protesters “stalking and impeding” ICE agents throughout the day.

Her mother, Donna Granger, told the Star Tribune that her daughter was “one of the kindest people I’ve ever known.”
