RFK Jr. says he ‘doesn’t know how Trump is still alive’ as he breaks down president’s ‘really bad’ diet

That Donald Trump isn’t the healthiest man alive isn’t a secret. The president is known to be very fond of McDonald’s, reportedly eating it every day. Now, the US Health Secretary, RFK Jr., has commented on his boss’s “really bad” diet, asking the question: How is Trump still alive?

Donald Trump isn’t famous for his diet. The president is known for his love of fast food and snacks, with no vegetables and little exercise. In an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper in 2016, Donald branded the McDonald’s burger, The Quarter Pounder, “great stuff.”

On October 20, during his 2024 presidential campaign, he worked behind the counter at a McDonald’s in Feasterville-Trevose, Pennsylvania,

“I love McDonald’s,” Trump said at the time. “I like to see good jobs, and I think it’s inappropriate when somebody puts down all over the place that she worked at McDonald’s.”

Donald’s passion for McDonald’s has been a long love story. In 2017, Politico reported that during his 2016 presidential campaign, Trump’s bodyguard, Keith Schiller, would routinely do fast food runs to McDonald’s near the Marine Air Terminal in Queens while Trump waited in his limousine outside.

“Egg McMuffins were often the order in the morning, or two quarter-pounders and a large fries later in the day,” Politico reported, citing an unnamed former aide.

Moreover, the news outlet reported that Schiller also headed to McDonald’s in Washington, D.C., if “the White House kitchen staff couldn’t match the satisfaction of a quarter-pounder with cheese (no pickles, extra ketchup) and a fried apple pie.”

Some years earlier, in 2017, Trump’s former campaign officials Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie wrote in their book Let Trump Be Trump that his go-to order was “two Big Macs, two Fillet-O-Fish and a chocolate malted shake.”

While fast food isn’t the best thing to base your diet on, Donald has one relatively reasonable explanation for why he eats it so much. Author Michael Wolff claimed in his 2018 book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House that Donald “had a longtime fear of being poisoned.”

He further wrote that Trump thought that since nobody knew he was coming, the food was prepared in a way that was safe for him.

Besides fast food, Donald reportedly likes well-done steaks with ketchup. In 2016, his former butler, Tony Senecal, who died in 2020, told the Palm Beach Post that Trump told him not to add any “garbage” to his dish. That meant no relishes, garnishes, or vegetables.

As Donald Trump returns to the White House with his “America First” agenda, the administration’s view of a healthy diet has also changed. Just days ago, Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr launched a new set of dietary guidelines for Americans focused on promoting whole foods, proteins, and healthy fats.

“Protein and healthy fats are essential and were wrongly discouraged in prior dietary guidelines,” Kennedy said. “We are ending the war on saturated fats.”

They also called for a “dramatic reduction” in the consumption of “highly processed foods laden with refined carbohydrates, added sugars, excess sodium, unhealthy fats, and chemical additives.” So how does this sit with Donald Trump’s diet? Well, let’s guess he won’t change his McDonald’s orders anytime soon.

On Katie Miller’s podcast, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. discussed Donald Trump’s diet, admitting he’s amazed the president is still alive.

“The interesting thing about the president is that he eats really bad food, which is McDonald’s, and, you know, candy and Diet Coke. But he drinks Diet Coke at all times. He has the constitution of a deity. I don’t know how he’s alive, but he is,” he said.

The US Health Secretary added that the president claims to only eat fast food when he’s “on the road,” as he trusts ‘big corporations’ and doesn’t want to get sick. Therefore, for example, at Mar-a-Lago, he eats better food.

“When he’s at Mar-a-Lago or the White House, he’s eating really good food,” RFK Jr added, not giving details on whether the “really good” food was healthier or not.

“When you travel with him, you get the impression that he’s just pumping himself full of poison all day long, and you don’t know how he’s walking around, much less being the most energetic person any of us have ever met,” he continued on Katie Miller’s podcast. “But, I actually think he does eat pretty good food. I mean, he’s in incredible health.”
