Kate Middleton facial scar claims ignite new conspiracy theory after church appearance

Kate Middleton’s outing with the rest of the Royal Family for the traditional Christmas Day appearance has sparked a new conspiracy theory. A video of the Princess of Wales has spread online, with users claiming she has a visible facial scar.

Kate Middleton has been in remission from her cancer for almost a year. The Princess of Wales has, despite that, decided not to rush back to her regular royal schedule.

During her cancer treatment, Kate was kept from the public eye, and as time went by, conspiracy theories surrounding her health spread online. Not least after the manipulated Mother’s Day picture in 2024, which Kate later apologized for.

Now, a fresh wave of conspiracy theories surrounding Kate Middleton is spreading online. On Christmas Day, Kate, alongside the Royal Family, appeared on the traditional walk to St Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham.

A short clip of Kate greeting well-wishers had more than 3 million views on X, and the viral video began circulating.

Why? Royal watchers believed Kate showed off a visible facial scar, which fueled conspiracies regarding her hospitalization. Some claim never even had cancer.

Christmas clip of Kate Middleton sparks conspiracy theory
Regarding the recently released Christmas video of Kate, some users online noted that the placement of her scar raised questions.

“I haven’t commented on Kate Middleton’s scar because I didn’t realize how big & deep a scar it is until this video,” one person wrote, per BoredPanda. “What happened to her? A scar on the face is one of a woman’s deepest fears.”

“She knows it’s visible! If she wanted to hide it a little, she could easily wear her hair differently, or she could have worn a similar hat, angled to her left instead of right. She knows what she’s doing!” a second person claimed.

A third person wrote, “I’ve been saying all along that Kate Middleton never had cancer. It was just a story they made up to distract from the hospitalization and horrific photoshop fail. She clearly never looked like she’d been through one day cancer treatment in that video.”

As the discussion went on, some even began comparing Kate Middleton to Meghan Markle.

“If [Meghan] disappeared for six months and came back with a scar like that, the [British Media] would not ignore it like this,” one person commented. “It’s crazy how much they hide.”

A second added, “The UK media picking at Meghan Sussex daily while ignoring this is devilishly biased.”

Kate Middleton admitted “difficult” time amid cancer treatment
Kate Middleton was diagnosed with an unknown type of cancer in March 2024. She’s been in remission since January, and earlier this year, during a visit to a Colchester hospital, the Princess of Wales opened up about her cancer journey.

She admitted that the time after the treatment was not what she expected.

“You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment’s done, then it’s like, ‘I can crack on, get back to normal,’ but actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult,” Kate Middleton said.

“You’re not necessarily under the clinical team any longer, but you’re not able to function normally at home as you perhaps once used to. And actually, someone to help talk you through that, show you and guide you through that sort of phase that comes after treatment, I think is really valuable.”

The Princess of Wales added that it was “life-changing,” concluding, “You have to find your new normal and that takes time…and it’s a rollercoaster, it’s not smooth, like you expect it to be,” she said. “But the reality is you go through hard times.”
