Donald Trump’s bizarre 7-word comment to Melania at turkey pardoning

Donald Trump pardoned the two White House turkeys for Thanksgiving while giving his usual speech, which, as often, not only included praises, but plenty of slandering. He arrived at the pardoning with First Lady Melania Trump, and a professional lip reader caught him saying something quite bizarre.

Donald Trump made, as usual, headlines as he stepped in front of the microphone Tuesday, this time for the traditional turkey pardoning ahead of Thanksgiving weekend.

The first Presidential turkey pardon dates back to President Abraham Lincoln; however, it was President George H.W. Bush who started the annual tradition in 1989.

The turkeys, Gobble and Wade were pardoned by Trump, and it’s safe to say the birds have had their fair share of luxury ahead of their White House trip.

Speaking to WAGM, hotel manager Jaap Boelens of the Willard Hotel in Washington, DC, Gobble and Waddle Spent Monday night in a luxury suite, which costs around $400 a night.

“Our special guests arrived yesterday with a red carpet welcome and quickly settled in, I checked in on them this morning, I did a credit check as well,” Boelens joked. “I noticed the mini bar was raided, and that’s totally fine.”

Donald Trump’s Thanksgiving speech
As Trump began his speech, it didn’t take long before he found reason to bash his political opponents. For example, he explained that when he saw the turkeys, he thought of naming them Chuck and Nancy, an apparent dig against Democrats Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi.

“But then I realized I wouldn’t be pardoning them. I would never pardon those two people,” Trump explained, adding he wouldn’t do it “no matter what Melania told me”.

Turkeys Gobble and Wade aren’t going on any Thanksgiving dinner table, but will enjoy retirement at North Carolina State University’s Prestage Department of Poultry Science in Raleigh.

According to Trump, US health secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr had certified the birds to be “the first-era MAHA turkeys,” which refers to the slogan “Make America Healthy Again.”

“They could be fat but they are still MAHA,” he says. “They have eaten every fattening food you can eat. We wanted to make them special.”

Trump’s ‘strange’ 7-word comment to Melania during turkey pardoning

The president arrived at the pardoning alongside First Lady Melania Trump, and he appeared to make a very strange comment to her. Speaking to the Express, professional lip reader Nicola Hickling revealed that when they walked down the stairs, Trump told his wife, after the First LAdy momentarily stepped back, “I’m happy to go after you.”

As they stood at the annual pardoning and saw the turkeys, the president continued speaking to his wife. He was quite surprised by how the birds looked

“Wow! Okay, okay, look at that… so that’s not abnormal? … It’s normal then? How big do they get? It looks like a rather violent bird”, the president commented.
