King Charles ‘set for historic US visit’ despite heartbreaking cancer news

King Charles stood as a guest when Donald Trump made his second state visit to the UK earlier this year. Next year, it appears to be the other way around, as reports suggest King Charles is set to visit the US, despite sad claims about his cancer, which reportedly is never going away.

In 2026, the US is celebrating its 250th birthday. There will, of course, be many prominent non-American guests attending the large celebration, and some appear to be royal. According to The Sun, King Charles has accepted Donald Trump’s invitation and is therefore set to visit the US next year.

According to the news outlet, he will be accompanied by Queen Camilla on the planned April trip. The Sun reveals Doinakd Trump plans it to be a “lavish State visit” and a “major moment” in the run-up to the July 4 Independence Day celebrations.

While the news of King Charles’ plans to visit the US makes many happy, it also raises concerns about whether the monarch is fit to undertake such an extensive trip, given his cancer. Charles is still receiving treatment for the unknown type of cancer he was diagnosed with in early 2024.

Moreover, the king appears shocked after the latest development with his brother. Andrew has been stripped of all his royal titles and is no longer a part of the royal family following the many accusations against him connected to the late convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

In September, while visiting a Birmingham hospital meeting cancer patients, King Charles provided an update on his health and shared some of the physical struggles he’s been facing.

There, among other engagements, he officially opened Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, where the 76-year-old monarch met staff, patients, and volunteers. One of those he interacted with was 85-year-old cancer patient Jacqueline Page.

The couple discussed their health and shared a few jokes. Per Sky, Page told Charles that she was “wearing out,” to which the monarch responded, “I know, this is the terrible thing, as I am discovering already. The bits don’t work so well when you get past 70.”

During his hospital visit, Charles also shared a conversation with 73-year-old cancer patient Matthew Shinda. Shinda asked him about his recovery, to which Charles responded, “I’m not too bad.”

“I have the same disease. It’s prostate,” Matthew said.

Royal expert claims King Charles’ cancer is ‘incurable’
Charles replied: “Half the problem is detecting it, isn’t it, in time,” later adding, “the great thing I think is they’re getting better and better at dealing with these things. The trouble is there’s always hope down the road. I am sorry about that; it’s so frustrating. “

How King Charles is doing is not known, but he is still very dedicated to his service to the Crown. Sadly, his cancer might never go away. In June, royal insider Camilla Tominey claimed that King Charles’s cancer is incurable.

“The talk now is that he may die ‘with’ cancer, but not ‘of’ cancer following a rigorous treatment program,” she wrote in The Telegraph, per the Daily Beast, adding that the anniversary plans for the monarch’s 80th birthday in 208 are “tentative” due to his health.
