‘The negatives were basically, “Why are you having a kid if you’re supposed to be a man,” “Men don’t have babies,” and stuff like that,’ Syven told The Daily Mail.

While Syven said being pregnant felt “perfect”, per Brightside, he did admit he felt judged for being a pregnant man, especially when going to his doctor.

“You’re a pregnant man sitting around a whole bunch of females, looking at you like ‘no, it can’t be,’ or ‘why?’ Or ‘is it possible you’re faking?’” he revealed, adding: “So it gets bad and very uncomfortable because you don’t want to hide your pregnancy.”

While negative reactions were inevitable, many stood up for the couple, urging respect and understanding. Advocates for LGBTQ+ rights reminded critics that gender identity and biological functions are separate, and that trans men giving birth is not a new phenomenon.
