Lip reader decodes what Whoopi Goldberg said to Demi Moore at Oscars

Almost 35 years since they starred together in Ghost with the late Patrick Swayze, Whoopi Goldberg and Demi Moore had a sweet reunion at the Oscars, which appears to have ended with Goldberg snapping at her former co-star.

Before gliding down the red carpet at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre for the March 2 Academy Awards, Whoopi Goldberg, 69, and Demi Moore, 62, had a sweet Ghost reunion.

The supernatural love story, released in 1990, remains a beloved classic, blending romance, mystery, and the afterlife.

In the film, Goldberg secured an Academy Award for her performance as the eccentric medium Oda Mae Brown, who helps Sam Wheat, played by Patrick Swayze, a man stuck between worlds as a ghost after being murdered. Moore plays Molly, Sam’s widow, who – through Goldberg’s character – is connected with her deceased husband

Now, 35 years later, fans watched as The Color Purple star and Moore greeted each other warmly, holding hands and locking eyes for a picture-perfect reunion that’s giving fans a major dose of nostalgia.

One online fan shares, “Both have barely aged. I also wonder how any gen z folks know what this movie is/was.”

“Whoopi looked so wonderful, and even Demi did too glad for them to reunite,” tweets a second.

“Maybe Sam is there too,” shares a third.

The touching exchange between the two Hollywood icons not only reignited memories of their on-screen chemistry but also showcased their enduring bond – more than three decades after the classic film was released.

“Love it! A genuine and heart-warming moment!” shares one netizen of the sweet moment shared by the two stars.

“One of my favorite movies, we need a sequel,” writes a second.

Moore’s ‘Indecent Proposal’
In addition to the sweet niceties, fans are also trying to figure out what the two celebrities said to one another.

Chatting before the photo was snapped, it appears that Goldberg snapped at the Striptease actor, who asked for a photo with her former co-star.

Ending the speculation, professional lip reader NJ Hickling spoke with the U.S. Sun and deciphered the conversation between the star of Sister Act and Moore.

According to Hickling, after Goldberg says, “I’m fine,” Moore next tells Goldberg, “Let’s get a photo.”

“Together, I’d like to,” Hickling claims Goldberg said before the Indecent Proposal star suggests: “Let’s stand back” – a comment that prompts Goldberg to bluntly refuse, saying: “I don’t pose.”

Rubbing her shoulder, Moore says, “That’s okay.”

Moore, who was snubbed by the Academy for her performance in The Substance, also complimented Goldberg, telling her she looked “cute” in her dress.
