Actress Shannen Doherty passed away on July 13 at 53, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Her final public appearance was a peaceful evening in Malibu with her friend Chris Cortazzo and mother Rosa Elizabeth Doherty.

Shannen’s publicist confirmed her death, saying, “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty

… She lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease.” Chris Cortazzo remembered her as his “beloved friend and heart” in a heartfelt video tribute.

Shannen was known for her role in “Beverly Hills 90210” and was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.

She credited her strength to her mother, who instilled in her a fierce spirit. Shannen said, “I attribute my strengths to the way I was raised, emphasizing perseverance and never giving up.”

Throughout her health challenges, Shannen leaned on her loved ones, especially her mother.

She expressed gratitude for her brother, his children, and her pets, highlighting the strong bonds that kept her grounded and motivated.
