The world is mourning the loss of Margaret Hamilton, the brilliant computer scientist whose groundbreaking work helped make humanity’s first journeys to the Moon possible. 🚀🌕

Hamilton led the team responsible for developing crucial onboard software for NASA’s Apollo missions, helping astronauts navigate one of the most historic achievements in human history.

At a time when computer programming was still a developing field, she helped shape what we now know as software engineering. Her work became especially important during the Apollo 11 Moon landing in 1969, when the spacecraft’s computer issued alarms and the software helped prioritize the critical tasks needed for a safe landing.

In recognition of her remarkable contributions, she received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.

Margaret Hamilton passed away on September 30, 2026, leaving behind a legacy that reaches far beyond science and technology. Her story is a reminder that some of the people who change history are not the ones standing in the spotlight, but the ones working behind the scenes. 💔🕊️

Her contribution to humanity will never be forgotten. ❤️
