Todd Blanche shares jaw-dropping Pam Bondi claim after Trump fired her as attorney general

Pam Bondi was fired by Donald Trump as Attorney General. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche stepped into her place instead, and now, he’s broken his silence on why Bondi was fired. He did so with a comment that is now raising eyebrows.

Pam Bondi has been one of Donald Trump’s most ardent supporters and defenders during his second presidential term. However, last week, she was fired from her job as Attorney General.

On Truth Social, Trump announced the news but focused on praising her for the job she has done.

“Pam Bondi is a Great American Patriot and a loyal friend, who faithfully served as my Attorney General over the past year. Pam did a tremendous job overseeing a massive crackdown in Crime across our Country, with Murders plummeting to their lowest level since 1900,” Trump wrote.

He continued: “We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much-needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future, and our Deputy Attorney General, and a very talented and respected Legal Mind, Todd Blanche, will step in to serve as Acting Attorney General.”

So why did Donald Trump fire Bondi? According to sources who spoke with CNN, he had multiple concerns. He was not satisfied with how she managed the Jeffrey Epstein files and believed she hadn’t pursued enough of his political opponents. She is the second Cabinet member to be dismissed in recent weeks, alongside Kirsti Noem.

Pam Bondi fired as Attorney General by Donald Trump
Over the past weeks, Trump reportedly discussed the possibility of firing Bondi with his allies and also addressed the issue directly with her last Wednesday, sources told CNN.

One source characterized the exchange as “tough.” During the conversation, Trump is said to have indicated that her time in the role was limited and that he intended to replace her soon.

Shortly after she was fired, Pam Bondi broke her silence. Taking to social media, Bondi thanked Donald Trump for the opportunity to serve as Attorney General. Moreover, she claimed that Trump’s first year of his second presidential term was “the most consequential first year of the Department of Justice in American history.”

“Over the next month, I will be working tirelessly to transition the office of Attorney General to the amazing Todd Blanche before moving to an important private sector role I am thrilled about, and where I will continue fighting for President Trump and this Administration,” Pam Bondi wrote on X.

“Leading President Trump’s historic and highly successful efforts to make America safer and more secure has been the honor of a lifetime, and easily the most consequential first year of the Department of Justice in American history. Since February 2025, we have secured the lowest murder rate in 125 years, secured first-ever terrorism convictions against members of Antifa, shattered domestic and transnational gangs across the country, taken custody of more than 90 key cartel figures, and won 24 favorable rulings at the Supreme Court.”

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche claims “nobody has any idea” why Trump fired Bondi
Bondi concluded, “I remain eternally grateful for the trust that President Trump placed in me to Make America Safe Again.”

Todd Blanche became the Acting Attorney General in Pam Bondi’s absence. Now, he has spoken out on the firing of Pam Bondi. However, he doesn’t know why she was fired.

Moreover, he told reporters during a Tuesday press conference at the Justice Department headquarters that he does not care to find out either.

“Nobody has any idea why the attorney general is no longer the attorney general and I’m the acting attorney general, except for President Trump,” Blanche said, per The New York Times, adding that he hasn’t taken any lessons from Bondi’s removal.

He continued, “I don’t operate every day trying to second guess what President Trump or anybody else is thinking. I just operate every day on doing everything that I need to do to execute the president’s agenda and priorities,”

Blanche concluded. “I grow tired of people in the media saying why President Trump did or did not do something, because President Trump’s the only one that knows that.”
