Melania Trump’s ex-boyfriend makes bombshell claim about her past

Melania Trump left her home country of Slovenia to become a model in the US. She was very successful and eventually met Donald Trump, and we all know where the story took them today. However, things could’ve been very different. Melania’s ex-boyfriend in Slovenia has revealed some quite surprising things about the first lady.

In the 1990s, Melania Trump left her home country of Slovenia to try to make it in America. The talented model moved to New York City, where she landed some major deals, but, as one can imagine, leaving your country behind at just a teenager must’ve been tough.

Melania had grown up in a modest home in the town of Sevnica and found her passion for modeling very early. And as she grew up, she also found love for the first time in Jure Zorcic.

They were a couple in the 1990s, and in an interview with ABC News, he spilled some quite fascinating details on their early romance.

Zorcic said he and Melania “met each other like in a movie.” He was on a motorbike, and Melania was walking, and he remembered how he was “impressed by her beauty” and her style from the moment he first saw her.

“She was very nicely dressed, and her behavior was classy,” Jure said about Melania. “She was tall, had long hair across her face – I could hardly see her eyes – such style!”

Melania Trump’s ex-boyfriend says she never wanted to live in America
The two engaged in a conversation, and Jure took Melania for a coffee. While she was Slovenian, her ex-boyfriend claims she was not a typical Slovenian girl.

He also claimed that Melania Trump never wanted to live in America but wanted to remain in Europe.

She wanted to live abroad, in Italy, France, a life of fashion,” he recalled, saying that a possible future for her in the US “was very far from our minds at that time,”

Melania Trump worked in both Paris and Milan before leaving for New York City. Jure Zorcic was surprised when she left.

“She told me she had an offer with a hair care company, for a campaign – that’s why she went,” he said.

The two met again in 2000, but something was different. Jure was surprised to hear that she would rather speak to him in English than in Slovenian. He recalled asking her, “Did you forget that you are Slovenian?”

He added, “Nobody believed 20 years ago that she would live at the top of the world, on Fifth Avenue in Trump Tower – even her!”

The laughs never showed up — and that’s exactly why it landed so hard. Jimmy Kimmel walked out on stage, skipped the punchlines, and spoke plainly about the uncertain future of public media, leaving the room unusually quiet. There was no sarcasm, no smirk. Just a steady voice talking about voices being pushed out, access to real information slipping away, and what it means when truth starts feeling out of reach. The shift was immediate — viewers could feel it. This wasn’t a bit. It wasn’t satire. It was Jimmy, speaking as himself — and it felt uncomfortably real. By the next morning, the clip was everywhere. Some praised him for saying what others won’t. Critics accused him of turning late-night TV into something it shouldn’t be. But one thing was clear: he hit on something people have been avoiding. And the simple, almost offhand example he shared at the very end turned the moment from serious… into impossible to ignore.
