“Pretty Little Baby” singer Connie Francis passes away aged 87

Singer Connie Francis passed away at age 87. The singer was popular throughout her life, with her song ‘Pretty Little Baby’ from 1962 gaining virality in recent months which propelled her back into the spotlight once again.

Connie Fancis’ death was reported by her friend, Ron Roberts. He posted the news on Facebook, writing, “It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that i inform you of the passing of my dear friend Connie Francis last night,” he wrote on Facebook.

“I know that Connie would approve that her fans are among the first to learn of this sad news,” he wrote in the post.

Francis first revealed her song ‘Pretty Little Baby’ in 1962 and it went viral recently almost 60 years on TikTok, over 60 years after it was first released!

The song has gained a massive amount of popularity recently, bringing Francis back to the forefront.

The song was used in various videos on several platforms, with influencers and celebrities using it for their videos.

In one of the singer’s last posts to social media, Connie Francis revealed how happy she was about all her new fans who found her because of her song ‘Pretty Little Baby.’

She wrote that she was “thrilled and overwhelmed” at her song gaining so much popularity all of a sudden.

She posted on Facebook, saying a thanks to some big personalities who used her song and helped propelled it to popularity, “Hi Everyone – I’m still astounded by the popularity of “Pretty Little Baby”. My thanks to Kylie Jenner, Timothée Chalamet, Kim Kardashian, North West Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Agnetha Fältskog, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Gracie Lawrence, Shaq O’Neal & Jimmy Fallon and others for their inclusions in the videos that contributed to the 17 billion-plus plays featuring the song!”

It is heartwarming to know that before she passed, she was able to see success once again! She was able to see how people loved her voice and a song she made decades ago gained popularity in an entirely new generation. And she was incredibly appreciative of the love she received, consistently posting on social media her thanks for the newfound fans she had made.

However, she revealed recently that she was not doing well healthwise. Some of her last updates on social media were about her stint at the hospital. Radio personality, Cousin Brucie wrote revealed that she was in the intensive care unit, which Francis later confirmed herself on Facebook as well.

While she was out of the spotlight for a while, in 2011 she gave an interview to The Village Voice, where she spoke about how she was misdiagnosed with bipolar, ADHD, as well as attention-deficit disorder.

May Connie Francis rest in peace! Share this with others who might want to know details of her last few days.
