Christian, your life is not your own.
This year, time itself feels like it’s holding its breath. A hidden war is raging: between a Father who will not stop calling, and a world sinking into noise, violence, and despair. You feel it in your fatigue, your guilt, your restless scrolling.

This Lent is described as a deliberate, loving interruption: God once again tears open our routine and offers a “propitious time” to be remade. At the center stands the Paschal Mystery—Christ’s death and resurrection—not as a distant doctrine, but as a living power that grows in us when we dare to open our hearts in freedom, prayer, and sincere dialogue. In that encounter, we discover that our lives are not disposable projects of self-will, but gifts born from the Father’s desire to give us life in abundance.

To fix our gaze on the crucified Christ is to recognize his wounds in the suffering of our world: war, exploitation, environmental ruin, indifference to the poor. Lent becomes a summons to conversion that is both deeply personal and profoundly social—mercy received, then shared as justice, almsgiving, and a new way of living. If we do not let this time pass in vain, we can become what Jesus asks: salt of the earth and light for a darkened world.
