Donald Trump sparks hilarious reaction over group photo with world leaders at G7 summit

Donald Trump has sparked a wave of reactions online after footage from the G7 Summit in France appeared to show him wandering away from fellow world leaders during a group photo.

The annual summit, held this year in Évian-les-Bains, Canada, brought together leaders from some of the world’s largest economies to discuss major issues including the conflicts involving Iran and Ukraine.

Donald Trump attended alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

Video quickly goes viral
The now-viral clip shows leaders gathering for photographs while chatting among themselves. At one point, Trump appears to move away from the group before being directed back toward the others.

The moment didn’t go unnoticed by netizens.

Some critics claimed the moment was embarrassing for the United States, with one person writing: “Trump has absolutely no idea where he is.”

Another commented: “This is so embarrassing for the US.”

Not everyone agreed with the criticism though. Many Trump supporters argued the clip was being taken out of context and dismissed suggestions that the president appeared confused.

“I can tell you where he is… in CHARGE,” one supporter wrote.

G7 leaders focus on Iran
Leaders at the summit focused on a number of major international issues.

The G7 nations released a joint statement welcoming what they described as a breakthrough agreement involving Iran and expressed support for a broader deal moving forward.

“We recognise the breakthrough and the opportunity that currently exists in the Middle East,” the statement read.

The leaders said the agreement presents a “historic opportunity” to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and to address concerns surrounding its regional and ballistic activities.

They also reiterated a shared position on the issue, stating: “We reaffirm that Iran will never obtain a nuclear weapon.”

While the summit produced major diplomatic discussions, it was a brief moment during a group photo that ended up attracting some of the biggest attention online.
