Melania Trump honored the winners of a national AI Challenge on Tuesday with a speech on artificial intelligence. However, now, the First Lady is being mocked by The Daily Show host Desi Lydic, who took some rather brutal shots at her.
On Tuesday, Melania Trump honored the students who won the inaugural Presidential AI Challenge National Champion Awards. She did so by giving a speech, praising the next generation of tech creators.
“Today is about opening doors,” the first lady said. “When the doors open, passions flow, courage blossoms, and dreams are realized. AI inspires. Use this chapter of your life to sail away with your dreams.”
She also praised AI for “extending the conceptual in ways never dreamed of before” across a range of industries, including medicine, entertainment, and the military. Melania stated that AI will “serve as the underpinning of every business sector in our nation.”
“Robots hold steady hands in the operating room. Movie characters, scripts, fashion, music, art, the entire ecosystem, all with AI,” she continued.
“The shift from soldiers to machines is already underway. Autonomous helicopters, swarming drones, fighterless jets, and autonomous bombers are on the way. The robots are here.”
Melania Trump brutally mocked on late-night talk show
Melania Trump’s speech soon made it to The Daily Show. However, she was not exactly praised. The show’s host, Desi Lydic, decided to roast the first lady’s speech, brutally mocking her for sounding like AI herself.
“Melania was so excited about AI, she even did an impression of it,” Lydic said and began imitating Melania with what was to be an Eastern European accent: “Sail away to the chapter of your life on the rocket ship of your courage as you blossom into the stars.”
She continued imitating Melania, asking, “What was the prompt to write that speech. ChatGPT, give me metaphor. No. Give me all metaphors.”
“Although, to be fair, this isn’t just some one-off thing Melania is doing,” Lydic added. “She’s been into dystopian technology for a while now.”
