There has been a lot of conversation happening online about Erika Kirk ever since her husband, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated, and she stepped into the role of leading his organization, Turning Point USA.

Another conspiracy that has been gaining momentum is by Candace Owens. Keep reading to learn more.

Candace Owens was a close friend of Charlie Kirk, but it seems that she might not get along as well with his widow, Erika Kirk. Candace has made accusations against Erika, including that she is lying about her motivations after the loss of her husband and that she is not “simply a grieving widow.”

Now she has released a docuseries titled Bride of Charlie, where she talks about what she claims is Erika Kirk’s truth. The podcaster has worked with Charlie Kirk in the past for his organization, Turning Point USA. She served as a communication director for the organization until 2019.

In the first episode of her series titled A Wrinkle in Time, she claimed that Erika was lying about being raised by a single mom.

She showed childhood pictures of Erika, which really fuelled a lot of conspiracy theories. In A Wrinkle in Time, Candace claimed that Erika is someone who “lies over and over” and also came up with proof, pointing out inconsistencies in her story.

Erika Kirk prides herself on being raised by a single mom, “strong, independent, entrepreneurial single mother [Lori Frantzve] who taught her how to be a good Christian,” but Owens said this was fake and that her father, Kent Frantzve, was actually very involved in her life and at one point was a stay-at-home dad.

Candace talked about Erika’s September 2025 profile that The New York Times did where she claimed that she had been raised by a single mom after her parents‘ divorce in 1998.

“The only problem is that it’s just not true,” the right-wing pundit alleged. “Erika was not raised by a single mother, like, at all. For entire years of her childhood, Kent was actually a stay-at-home dad. So almost the exact opposite thing was true at one point.”

She then played a clip where Erika is speaking about stay-at-home dads during The Charlie Kirk Show podcast. In the clip, Erika mentions her dad being a stay-at-home parent at one point, a time which was “really special” to her.

Candace also said she had spoken with former classmates and ex-boyfriends who are “bewildered” by her portrayal of her relationship with her father.

Owens also shared a picture of Kirk’s family tree and alleged that Erika Kirk’s aunt, Karla, may actually be her biological mother.

Erika has been under the watchful gaze of the world since her husband, Charlie Kirk, was assassinated on September 10. She later became CEO of Turning Point USA, an organization Charlie Kirk had founded.

Candace Owens has not been shy about her dislike for Erika Kirk and the two women met in December 2025, to try and put their differences aside. Both women said the meeting was “productive” on social media. However, a month after Candace, Kirk was allegedly talking about her husband’s memorial service as the “event of a century” and also talking about how the organization was “at, like, over 200,000 for merch sale.”

“That’s moving pretty quickly to the acceptance phase now,” the podcaster said of the comments. “We know everybody grieves differently. In my imagination, I just thought she would be more upset.”
