37-year-old Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed in her car by ICE agents on Wednesday. Still, the murder is not being accepted as simply murder by everyone, including many within the Trump administration. Now, ESPN host Stephen A. Smith has weighed in on the killing, calling it “completely justified.”
Immigration and Customs Enforcement Officers (ICE) were involved in the fatal shooting on January 7 when 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good was shot and killed in her car. The reactions have been furious following the tragic incident, but while many have slammed the ICE officer for acting the way they did, others have defended it.
One of them is President Donald Trump. Shortly after the killing of Renee Nicole Good, he took to Truth Social and blamed the victim for what happened, causing outrage.
”I have just viewed the clip of the event which took place in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It is a horrible thing to watch,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. ”The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing, and resisting, who then violently, wilfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defense.”
Trump continued, ”Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital. The situation is being studied, in its entirety, but the reason these incidents are happening is because the Radical Left is threatening, assaulting, and targeting our Law Enforcement Officers and ICE agents on a daily basis.”

“They are just trying to do the job of MAKING AMERICA SAFE,” he concluded. “We need to stand by and protect our Law Enforcement Officers from this Radical Left Movement of Violence and Hate! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem stated that the ICE shooting was justified but also that it was “preventable.”
Now, ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith has, in a long rant on his YouTube channel, stated that the shooting was “completely justified” from a legal standpoint, as he claims she drove her car towards officers.
However, he added that if the agent had time to step out of the way, he should’ve aimed for the tires.
“I saw the video on numerous occasions and seeing what transpired from a lawful perspective, as it pertains to a law enforcement official, don’t expect him to be prosecuted. He was completely justified,” Smith said in a video uploaded to his YouTube channel.
He continued, “From a humanitarian perspective, however, why did you have to do that? If you could move out the way, that means you could have shot the tyres. That means you could have got a few feet away after you shot the tyres and if you were unsuccessful at doing that you could have got her down the road.”

“She wasn’t driving down the road, coming at you 90 miles an hour, she was parked in the middle of the street. Rather than get out the car, she wrongfully tried to drive off. And wrongfully disregarded a law enforcement official because that it was ICE is and as a result, lost her life because of it.”
The initial video circulating online shows an officer approaching an SUV stopped in the middle of the road and attempting to open the driver’s door.
Stehen A Smith, who has become increasingly more involved in political debates, insisted that the ICE officer who fired the shots at Renee Nicole Good won’t be prosecuted.
“From a legal perspective don’t expect this ICE officer to be prosceuted, I’m telling you right now. She was in the car, protesting, blocking off the street, an officer got in front of the car, another on the side, and she tried to take off,” he continued his YouTube rant, adding that while she was “wrong to drive off,” the fatal incident could have been avoided.
‘It wasn’t necessary. You could have arrested her; you could have spared the woman’s life. You didn’t have to kill her,” he added.
