Royal insider accuse Prince William and Kate of keeping Prince George ‘under lock & key’

Prince William and Kate Middleton are shielding Prince George and his siblings as much as possible. The three royal children, including George, the future king, have not been seen much in public. Perhaps too little, according to a royal expert, who now criticises William and Kate for preventing him from being “loved” by members of the public.

Prince William and Kate Middleton are raising their children much differently from the way royal parents have in the past. The Prince and Princess of Wales have tried their best to give their children a normal childhood, or at least as normal as possible.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis haven’t been with their parents for many royal outings so far. Still, George is to be king in the future, but how much the 12-year-old truly understands about his future and his second-in-line status to the throne is unknown.

However, according to expert and former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond, William and Kate are waiting as long as possible to tell their children the finer details of their respective future roles.

William and Kate have learned a great deal from Prince Harry’s royal exit, where the Duke referred to himself as a “spare.” The last thing William wants for his children is to be put in different boxes based on the roles their birth order assigns them.

“William is focused on creating a stable and private family life—the kind he never had when he was growing up,” Jennie Bond told GB News.

Prince William and Kate Middleton accused of keeping Prince George ‘under lock and key’
While Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis have been kept mainly out of the public spotlight, perhaps that isn’t the right approach. At least that is what royal expert Katie Nicholl suggests. Speaking to the Express, she accuses Prince William and Kate Middleton of keeping George ‘under lock and key’ and not letting the public “fall in love” with him while he is still young, something Nicholl claims is essential.

“William doesn’t want George to have the same level of exposure he and Prince Harry had as kids, so it has to be done very carefully,” she told Express. “[Prince] William has the sense to know that the public needs to fall in love with George as a youngster. “

She continued: “He has to have a presence, and he can’t be kept under lock and key and only introduced when he’s 18.”

Prince George has made some appearances, including at Trooping the Colour, the Christmas Day walkabout, and the Easter Sunday Service, alongside his siblings. Also, George and Charlotte have been spotted at Wimbledon with their parents.

Prince George “loves his father”
According to Katie Nicholl, William is doing all he can to prepare his eldest son for the future duties.

“The aides I’ve spoken to and those who know him best say he is absolutely prepared,” she continued. “Of course, it’s not a moment he wants to think about. He loves his father and wants him to be around for a long time, but when the time comes, he will be ready.”
