King Charles’ brutal 2-word reply to Prince William during Kate’s cancer battle

King Charles is still in treatment for his cancer, which he was diagnosed with in February last year. Meanwhile, Kate Middleton is in remission, but the Royal Family has had a very challenging year.

Prince William has taken on more responsibilities, and when his wife was diagnosed with cancer, he made a request to his father. However, according to a new royal book, King Charles responded in two blunt words.

King Charles was diagnosed with cancer in February last year. The monarch was praised for his decision to go public about his health. At the time, he withdrew from public engagements as he received treatment behind closed doors.

Only a month later, Kate Middleton announced that she also had received a cancer diagnosis. Because of his father’s and wife’s cancer treatments, Prince William stepped up, together with Queen Camilla, to become the face of the Royal Family in their absence.

“At this time, I am also thinking of all those whose lives have been affected by cancer,” Kate Middleton said at the time. “For everyone facing this disease, in whatever form, please do not lose faith or hope. You are not alone.”

In his new book, The Windsor Legacy: A Royal Dynasty, royal author Robert Jobson reveals new details on what happened behind palace walls as the king and Princess of Wales received their cancer diagnosis.

Per The Mirror, Prince William was said to be “totally crestfallen,” and as he tried his best to take on more responsibilities while also focusing on caring for his and Kate’s three children, it was not easy.

In an interview with the Times earlier this year, Prince William branded the experience as “the hardest year of my life.” In his book, Jobson writes that when his father received his cancer diagnosis, Prince William made a plea to Charles that he had to slow down and listen to the advice of his medical team.

Moreover, Jobson claims Prince William even suggested he could reduce his royal duties to just 10 for the entire year, in hopes of focusing on his family and his wife’s recovery.

However, King Charles had other ideas. According to The Windsor Legacy: A Royal Dynasty, the monarch simply told his son,” Think again.”

It’s been previously reported that King Charles and Prince William don’t agree on everything. In September, royal expert Rebecca English claimed that “angry rows” between King Charles and Prince William had been overheard by royal staff.

Not even “thick palace walls,” could keep their raised voices out.

“Harsh words have been exchanged in the past, angry rows permeating even the thickest castle walls, sometimes within earshot of staff,” English wrote for the Daily Mail.

“There have also been clashes of opinion on the professional side, such as the retention of ivory treasures in the Royal Collection (William wants to burn them, Charles believes they should be kept as historical artefacts), which not so long ago resulted in a ‘frank’ exchange.”
