Survivor of UK train stabbing reveals attacker’s 6-word statement

A woman was attacked on a UK train by a frenzied knife-wielding man. She survived the ordeal and is now opening up about everything that happened.

On Saturday, November 1, police swarmed a London-bound train at 7.39 pm after they received calls of distress from a knifeman who was making his way through the carriages.

The train driver, Andrew Johnson, who happened to be a former army veteran, was alerted about a mass stabbing event on board and quickly sprang into action. The train made an unscheduled stop at UK’s Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire platform, where passengers and assailants were met by dozens of emergency service workers to remedy the upsetting situation.

Armed police took down the suspect, according to reports, using a taser. They also arrested two men who looked to be in their 30s. However, one was reportedly released soon after with no charges.

11 people were wounded in the tragic event and required treatment. 9 of the 11 were considered to be in critical condition according to officials.

On Sunday, November 2, authorities confirmed one person who is thought to be an employee of the rail system and attempted to intervene in the attack was still in critical condition.

Eyewitness accounts and survivors’ stories are now emerging about the harrowing events of the evening. Danya Arnold was a survivor of the incident who shared their narrow escape from the knifeman and how they helped those who had been attacked.

Danya said in an interview, that she was in the same carriage as the attacker and witnessed him sink his knife into ‘anyone he could find.’

She shared that at one point, the 48-year-old was face-to-face with the suspect.

“I was going with the crowd but then I got knocked into some seats,” she recalled, adding, “I looked back and saw the knifeman running so I slid down to the floor.”

She continued the harrowing tale, “He came at me with the knife and I begged ‘please don’t.’

She revealed what happened next, “Then something shifted in his face and he just carried on. I feel very fortunate to still be alive.”

She said she came face-to-face with him in another instance, when he actually spoke to her.

“Then a minute or so later he came back through,” Danya she said, “looked at me again and said ‘the devil’s not going to win’ and continued on.

“I was waiting cause I could still hear him in the carriage. I heard the doors open and ran off the train,” she shared.

She later saw him as he was trying to escape authorities before police ultimately tasered him ‘by the taxi rank.’

Counter-terrorism officials were involved in the event and its aftermath but police have since reported that the attack seems to have been an isolated incident. A 32-year-old man is said to be in custody on suspicion of attempted murder.

We are sending our thoughts and prayers to all the victims and their families. We wish everyone good health and speedy recovery.
