The former president, known for long speeches, kept his remarks to just eight minutes instead of the planned 15.

Seated between Melania Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Trump spent most of the event in conversation with Hegseth. Yet one short exchange with Melania caught attention.

A lip reader told the Daily Mail that Trump turned to his wife and asked, “Are you cold?” Melania smiled and replied, “No, I’m okay.” Trump nodded in response.

For a couple often rumored to be distant, the moment appeared unusually tender.

Body Language Experts Weigh In
Body language analyst Judi James told The Irish Star that Melania’s behavior stood out. She appeared more engaged than usual and even showed subtle affection.

The most surprising move? She placed her hand on Trump’s thigh—twice. James suggested it could signal closeness, comfort, or even a quiet display of control. Later, Trump reportedly returned the gesture by resting his hand on Melania’s lap.

Tenderness Amid a Flop
Though the parade underwhelmed in turnout and energy, the couple’s interaction told a different story. For once, they looked more connected than critics often suggest.

So while the birthday celebration may have fallen flat, Trump still received one gift—Melania showing she wasn’t cold, and maybe not giving him the cold shoulder either.
