Prince Harry “extremely angry” with Meghan over “tasteless” video

Prince Harry is said to be “extremely angry” and “horrified” over what his wife, Meghan Markle, has done. The Duchess was recently visiting Paris; however, an innocent Instagram video of her riding in a car at night took a harrowing turn. She didn’t ride past just any other bridge – but filmed the Pont de l’Alma Bridge, which leads to the tunnel where Princess Diana died.

Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William, had to go through the unimaginable tragedy of losing their mother. Princess Diana died in August 1997 when the car she and her boyfriend, Dodi Fayed, crashed in the Pont de l’Alma tunnel, killing both the driver and the couple.

The Pont de I’Alma tunnel, morbidly, became a tourist attraction and a place for fans to mourn and remember her. In 2007, Harry decided to visit the tunnel and drive the route his mother had taken that night in 1997.

The Duke had been invited to Paris to attend the Ruby World Cup semi-final, and on his first night in the French capital, he asked the driver to take him to the tunnel.

Harry asked to drive 65 miles per hour, “the exact speed Mummy’s car had supposedly been driving, according to police, at the time of the crash.”

“Off we went, weaving through traffic, cruising past the Ritz, where Mummy had her last meal, with her boyfriend, that August night. Then we came to the mouth of the tunnel. We zipped ahead, went over the lip at the tunnel’s entrance, the bump that supposedly sent Mummy’s Mercedes veering off course,” Harry recalled in his book.

Meghan Markle took video of driving past Pont de l’Alma tunnel where Diana died
“But the lip was nothing. We barely felt it. As the car entered the tunnel I leaned forward, watched the light change to a kind of water orange, watched the concrete pillars flicker past. I counted them, counted my heartbeats, and in a few seconds we emerged from the other side.”

Harry concluded: “I’d always imagined the tunnel as some treacherous passageway, inherently dangerous, but it was just a short, simple, no-frills tunnel.”

Now, his wife, Meghan Markle, is in hot water over a video she posted in the same location. Last week, the Duchess was in Paris for Fashion Week, where she was pictured sitting front row at the Balenciaga fashion show.

Meghan posted and filmed a video of the view from he car seat at night, and the video showed the Pont de l’Alma bridge, which leads to the Pont de l’Alma tunnel where Princess Diana died.

Social media users quickly noticed Meghan’s blunder, with one user writing on X, “I’m speechless. This doesn’t show love or respect for Harry. I feel for Prince William. This is beyond insensitive”. Per Express, other users called Meghan’s post “Others called her post “tasteless” and that she had ‘disrespected’ Diana’s memory.

Royal expert says Harry is “extremely angry” with his wife
A royal expert claims Harry is more than just disappointed. Speaking to OK! Magazine, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said Meghan Markle made a genuine mistake. However, that doesn’t mean Harry took lightly what happened once back home.

“I suspect Harry will be horrified and extremely angry, because the video links to the most traumatic period of his life,” Fitzwilliams told OK!. “He would be aghast, because even though it wasn’t intentional, it was a very bad mistake.”

“Meghan simply cannot afford to behave like that, because of who she is and the fact she has made herself into a brand. Her airily filming part of Paris, while it wasn’t intended to offend anybody and was clearly a mistake, was grossly insensitive, and these mistakes hold weight.”

According to OK! members of the Royal Family have seen it and are not happy. Meanwhile, one source claimed Prince William was “livid beyond words.”

Fitzwilliams concluded that the blunder makes it tough for the estranged prince to publicly support his wife.

“He is unable to shield Meghan from the repercussions of her mistake, it cannot be undone,” the royal expert concluded. “If the average person filmed a video like that, it wouldn’t matter. But every single thing Meghan does is scrutinised, by friend or foe.”
