Fan who let pedophile rockstar abuse her baby makes demand from prison

A fan who permitted former Lostprophets frontman Ian Watkins to abuse her baby has made a demand from the confines of prison, according to shocking reports.

Watkins was stabbed to death in his cell at HMP Wakefield in Yorkshire, UK on the morning of October 11, having been attacked by two other inmates.

The 48-year-old was serving a 29-year sentence having been found guilty of 13 sexual offenses in 2013, including the attempted rape of a baby, multiple assaults involving children, and possession of extreme pornographic material.

During sentencing, a judge described Watkins’ crimes as “plunging into new depths of depravity” labeling the musician a “corrupting influence” with a “complete lack of remorse.” He warned that “any decent person… will experience shock, revulsion and incredulity.”

Officers were called to Wakefield prison this weekend over reports of an assault on a prisoner. They discovered Watkins “with serious injuries” after he had allegedly been stabbed by two other inmates.

West Yorkshire Police confirmed that two men, Samuel Dodsworth, 43, and Rashid Gedel, 25, have been charged with murder in connection with his death.

In a surprise twist, one of the the two women who offered their baby to Watkins prior to his imprisonment (both women were sentenced to long prison terms as well) has now made a fresh bid for freedom.

The individual in question, who remains anonymous so as to protect the anonymity of her child, was incarcerated in 2013 and ordered to serve 17 years in prison for allowing her infant to be abused by Watkins. The offense reportedly included taking indecent photographs.

In wake of Watkins’ death, the UK Parole Board confirmed that her parole has been referred for review.

A spokesperson for the Parole Board told the Daily Mail: “We can confirm the parole review of (Woman B) has been referred to the Parole Board by the Secretary of State for Justice and is following standard processes.

“Parole Board decisions are solely focused on what risk a prisoner could represent to the public if released and whether that risk is manageable in the community.

“A panel will carefully examine a huge range of evidence, including details of the original crime, and any evidence of behaviour change, as well as explore the harm done and impact the crime has had on the victims.”

The mother was previously released in June 2021, at the automatic release point of her sentence, but was then returned to prison in September of the same year over concerns relating to her relationships and ‘other behavior’.

In 2023, the woman underwent her first parole hearing. Officials at the time described her as being well-behaved in prison, though it was noted that she was not willing to accept any program to help her understand the gravity of the sex offences she had committed.

“She had been too easily influenced and manipulated by another person,” the hearing’s summary read. “She had felt lonely and had been unable to successfully maintain relationships.

“Nor had she thought sufficiently about the impact of her actions on her victim.”

A second woman imprisoned for giving her baby to Watkins was sentenced for 14 years behind bars.
