Over the weekend of July 18th, Jennifer Lopez lit up the stage as a headliner at the Cook Music Fest – but it wasn’t just her vocals that had the crowd buzzing.

Performing in Tenerife, the largest of Spain’s Canary Islands, the diva – who turns 55 on July 24 – raised eyebrows with a shocking routine that many are calling over-the-top explicit.

“It’s not shocking,” starts another user. “It’s who she’s been for decades now. It’s sad that she hasn’t grown beyond this sort of thing.”

Despite the backlash, Lopez still has her defenders. Some fans praised her for owning her sexuality and challenging ageist double standards in entertainment.
