DOJ Probe Into Biden’s Handling of Classified Docs Ends With No Charges

The U.S. Justice Department will not charge President Joe Biden over his handling of classified documents found at his home and former office, though a report is expected to criticize his actions.

Special Counsel Robert Hur, appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland, has completed the investigation, and the findings may be released this week. The decision eases a major burden on Biden’s reelection campaign.

In contrast, former President Donald Trump faces federal charges over classified documents found at Mar-a-Lago. The Biden team cooperated with authorities, unlike Trump, who is accused of obstructing efforts to recover materials.

Concerns remain that Hur’s report could include embarrassing photos showing how Biden stored the documents. Critics argue the Biden team mishandled disclosures, making the situation appear worse.

Meanwhile, in Trump’s case, Judge Aileen Cannon denied a motion to force disclosure of his legal defense, potentially delaying the trial beyond the 2024 election
