New passport ban in the US

In his inauguration speech, President Trump declared that the federal government would recognize only two genders, upsetting many in the LGBTQ+ community. His executive order defines gender strictly as male or female, based on biological sex,

and mandates that government forms no longer promote gender ideology. As part of this, Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a ban removing the “X” gender marker from passports, reversing a policy by Antony Blinken. Trump’s administration also plans to end federal programs supporting gender transition and care.
