David Hasselhoff speaks out after ex-wife Pamela Bach found dead at 62

David Hasselhoff has paid tribute to ex-wife Pamela Bach after she was found dead at her home this week age 62.

According to reports, the body of former Baywatch star Bach was discovered at her Hollywood Hills home on March 5.

The Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s office said that the actress died by suicide, as per the BBC.

Bach is survived by daughters Haley, 32, and Taylor, 34, both of whom she shares with Hasselhoff.

Hasselhoff released a statement expressing his heartbreak at Bach’s passing. The two were married for almost 20 years between 1989 and 2006.

“Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff,” reads Hasselhoff’s statement.

“We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time but we kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.”

Hasselhoff and Bach first met on the set of classic ’80s series Knight Rider, which featured the former as the iconic Michael Knight. The couple tied the knot four years later in December of 1989, and would go on to have two daughters before their split in 2006.

As per the terms of their divorce, Hasselhoff and Bach were initially each given custody of one of their children, before Hasselhoff was later awarded custody of them both.

Bach starred in CBS drama The Young and the Restless, and had roles in productions including Cheers, The Fall Guy, T.J. Hooker, Superboy and Viper.

The 62-year-old’s passing follows the death of the iconic Gene Hackman, who was found dead at his home in Santa Fe, New Mexico last week.

As per reports, the bodies of Hackman, his wife, Betsy Arakawa, and one of their dogs were discovered on Wednesday, February 26. Authorities initially stated that there was no foul play suspected in their deaths, but more recent updates suggest there is suspicion enough to warrant a full investigation.

Rest in peace, Pamela Bach.
