Since gaining fame, Jacob Elordi has kept his facial hair minimal — until now. During a recent public appearance, the actor debuted longer hair and a beard, sparking mixed reactions from fans.

On November 29, 2024, fans got a glimpse of Jacob Elordi’s transformation over the past few months. The star attended the opening ceremony of the 21st Marrakech International Film Festival.

Elordi, serving as a jury member, also appeared on the second day of the tribute ceremony for Sean Penn in Marrakech, Morocco. The 27-year-old’s new look — featuring longer hair, a beard, and a mustache — quickly became a topic of discussion online, with some saying he looked like a completely different person.

One person, sharing an old gif of the actor after seeing his current image, remarked, “Bro doesn’t even look like the same person anymore,” while a shocked X user exclaimed, “Oh my god what happened to him- :(.”

Another commenter theorized, “[Having a] mustache makes you look very old than [a] beard—keeping both will make you look 30 in your 20s.” An Instagram user echoed the sentiment, saying, “[He] aged himself about 30 years.”

Not everyone thought the beard was flattering. One person stated, “This is the first time I’ve seen a beard that doesn’t suit someone.” Another unimpressed user commented, “He looks like a cult leader.”

“He looks homeless tho [sic],” one Instagram user noted, while another said, “Nope, get rid of it.” A displeased fan wrote, “Please, no. No need to cover that pretty face.” Another remarked, “The only man in the world that doesn’t really look that good with a beard.”

The scruff disappeared shortly afterward when he attended “Saltburn’s” premiere in Los Angeles, California.

That same month, he seemed to be experimenting with growing his beard as he attended the GQ Men of the Year Party at Bar Marmont.
